Outfit of the day

Here is another outfit post, finally. These pictures were taken by the amazing Hannele Valkama in Helsinki, Finland. The last one is from Löyly, a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. I would definitely recommend it if you ever go to Helsinki.

The lovely lace top is from River Island (here) and the skirt is old from Vero Moda. The jacket is my favourite, it’s black but still so feminine and somehow reminds me of the 50s. It’s from Oasis and you can get it here.  The tan suede boots are Carvela but unfortunately I can’t find them anywhere. The turquoise nail polish is shade Naughty Nautical by Essie and I thought it was perfect for an evening by the sea.

Outfit of the day

It’s a big moment for this blog: the first outfit post! I’d like to thank my friend Hannele Valkama for taking these pictures. I am happy that this outfit ended up being the first one because I’ve been wearing it a lot, including to my grandmother’s 70th birthday last weekend. These pictures were taken in front of the railway station in Helsinki and at Cafe Java.

This jacket is from Oasis and it is my favourite leather jacket. It was a part of a collection that looked like it was inspired by the 50s with feminine cuts and cherry prints. The jacket also available in navy blue and pink. I love the black though, it is just the right amount of edgy and when the zipper is closed it really emphasizes your figure. A real treat in a world full of boxy biker jackets!

I don’t like wearing black near my face because it drains me out. Because of this I’m often wearing a light scarf like this one from Lindex.

I’m wearing white sneakers, which are a very common view on the street if you live in Northern Europe. My pair has a leather-like finish which makes them a bit different. I bought them from Esprit a year ago.

The bag is called Darla by Carvela Kurt Geiger. I love KG and especially the Carvela collection. I couldn’t find this bag in green but it is available in many different colours, including tan which I also own. ASOS has even more colours available, including this gorgeous blue. I love this bag so much. Unfortunately it’s too small for my laptop so I’m not allowing myself to buy more.

I bought this blue cardigan from Zara at the start of this year and it has become one of the pieces in my wardrobe that I keep wearing again and again. It looks pulled together and a bit like a blazer with the comfort of a cardigan. Also, my love for (faux) suede doesn’t hurt!

I think this skirt is the oldest item I own as it is probably seven years old. It is from a Finnish store called Seppälä. The striped top is from H&M. I find it an easy and essential piece for layering, just like black tights which you can find me wearing most days.

Wow, it feels like such a big moment to show an outfit of the day. I look forward to doing many more style posts!
