Clothes I’ve bought: Spring 2017

I thought I would show you what I’ve been spending my money on. This is all the clothes, makeup and accessories that I’ve bought over the last two months.

I’m very happy with my purchases. Look at all of that blue, lace and pretty patterns. Let’s talk about each item!

You can find this Poppy Lux dress on ASOS here. It’s perfect for someone who is inspired by the 50s. Polka dots, fit-and-flare silhouette, red and black… Not to mention it is just casual enough to wear in everyday life.

I couldn’t stop thinking about this jacket from River Island so eventually I decided to splurge and go for it. The details are stunning and I will be wearing this every chance I get. You can find the jacket here.

I originally wanted this gorgeous River Island lace top in white but I hesitated because it cost 40 pounds and eventually the top sold out. I found this light blue version of the top for 50% off and decided to go for it. Obviously I would wear a camisole under this. I think it would look gorgeous with a leather pencil skirt or even a leather mini skirt. You can find the top here, it’s still on sale! It is also available in mint green.

How summery is this dress! I think I will either wear it for my graduation or for my cousin’s wedding in July. It is perfect for a summer daytime occasion. It’s from Oasis and comes in three different lenghts. I have the middle one which ends just above my knee (I’m 165 cm tall). You can find this dress here, a midi length here and a mini length here. This dress is perfect for someone who likes bell sleeves in theory but doesn’t like how they add bulk to my frame. These sleeves are very discreet and I can’t wait to show you how they look in real life. I am also in love with this light blue lace dress and this mint green lace dress. Sadly I think that I look too delicate in pastel shades.

This top is also from Oasis but unfortunately I can’t find it on their website anymore. I bought it in March and it must have been part of the autumn/winter collection. I really like the colour and I will repeat what I said above about bell sleeves but this time with ruffles – the ruffles are very discreet and not bulky at all.

This top is also from Oasis and you can find it here. I’m still undecided if I should keep this one. I wear this shade (okay all shades) of blue a lot and the bird print is very nice but maybe a bit too much for me. It is a very flattering cut and you should sometimes stretch your style comfort zone a little bit, right? Still, 20 pounds is expensive for a statement top. Maybe if I figure out what I would wear it with I will keep it. Let me know if you have any ideas about how to style this top!

The heels are from a Finnish shop Kookenkä (here) but the brand of the heels is Tamaris and you might be able to find them somewhere else. I can’t usually find anything I really like from there but luckily I decided to go in and found these beauties. The colour is perfect for most dressy dresses and the heel height of 10 cm is still low enough for me to wear all day, as long as the event doesn’t involve a lot of dancing. I think I will wear these to every event this summer and for many years to come. I originally wanted gold or rose gold metallic heels but I feel that these are more timeless.

Chokers have clearly been a thing recently. From top to bottom: Primark (couldn’t find it anymore), River Island, River Island. Sunglasses are from Mango. I love a cat eye shape – see statement about the 50s below. The bracelet is from Oasis and the moon shaped detail is beautiful.

The only makeup I’ve bought recently is these two nail polishes. They are quite wild for me but I got them for about two pounds from an outlet each so why not! Nails are probably the most likely place where I will occasionally try something out of character. The gold glitter from W7 goes on top of a nail polish and it looks gorgeous. This shade is called First Class and it is a very yellow gold. I especially like it on top of red.

The blue-and-silver glitter polish is from a Finnish brand Lumene and is not available online. The colours of the big glitter particles look so much like the Finnish flag that I had to get it. I will definitely wear this for Eurovision and I will do a post about how my nails turned out! I’ve never used glitter polish before so we’ll see if this will be a disaster.
